Jetmapper ("we", "our", "us") is a product of SAMUK Innovations Limited, a company registered in England & Wales, building connected, handcrafted wood maps that display real-time flight data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you visit our website (jetmapper.co.uk), sign up for updates, place a deposit, or back our Kickstarter campaign.

What We Collect

We may collect the following personal data:

  • Contact information— email address provided when you sign up for launch notifications or place a deposit.
  • Geolocation data— approximate city, country, and region derived from your IP address when you subscribe to our mailing list.
  • Payment information— when you place a deposit, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), our payment processor. We do not store your card details. Stripe collects and processes payment data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
  • Usage and analytics data— pages visited, scroll depth, click interactions, session recordings, heatmaps, time on site, referral source, browser type, and device information.
  • Advertising data— Meta (Facebook) Pixel data and cookie identifiers for ad attribution and conversion tracking.

How We Use Your Data

Your personal data is used to:

  • Send Kickstarter campaign updates, product announcements, and pre-launch notifications via email.
  • Process and manage your refundable deposit via Stripe.
  • Tag and segment subscribers (e.g. VIP depositors) to send relevant communications.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
  • Measure and optimise our advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) using conversion tracking.
  • Analyse website usage to improve the user experience through analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings.

Server-Side Tracking

In addition to browser-based cookies, we use server-side event tracking via the Meta Conversions API (CAPI). When you submit your email or complete a deposit, we send a hashed version of your email address to Meta from our server to measure ad campaign performance. This data is hashed (SHA-256) before transmission and cannot be used to identify you directly.

Payment Processing & Stripe

Deposits and payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. SAMUK Innovations Limited is the merchant and seller of record for all transactions. Stripe handles:

  • Payment processing and card handling
  • Tax calculation and collection via Stripe Tax, where applicable
  • Invoicing and receipts
  • Refund processing

Third-Party Services

We share limited data with the following trusted third parties:

  • Stripe— payment processing, invoicing, and tax calculation.
  • Brevo— email marketing and automation. Stores your email address and subscription preferences.
  • Google Analytics 4— anonymised website analytics and audience demographics.
  • PostHog— product analytics, A/B testing, feature flags, heatmaps, and session recordings.
  • Microsoft Clarity— heatmaps and session recordings to understand user behaviour.
  • Meta (Facebook)— advertising pixel and server-side Conversions API for campaign measurement.
  • Cloudflare— infrastructure and data storage (Workers KV for deposit records).
  • Vercel— website hosting, speed insights, and web analytics.
  • Kickstarter— crowdfunding platform that processes backer information and campaign pledges.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above:

  • Email subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Deposit records are retained for the duration of the Kickstarter campaign plus 90 days for refund processing.
  • Analytics data is retained according to each provider's standard retention periods.

If you request deletion of your data, we will do so within 30 days unless we are legally required to retain it.

UK & European Economic Area (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request erasure of your personal data.

  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In the EU, contact your national data protection authority.

Legal basis for processing: We process your data based on consent (email signup, cookies), contractual necessity (deposit processing), and legitimate interest (analytics, ad measurement).

United States (CCPA / CPRA — California Residents)

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to delete your personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell your data. Ad tracking via Meta Pixel may constitute "sharing" under CCPA — you can opt out by declining cookies.

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
  • Adequacy decisions where the destination country provides an adequate level of data protection.
  • Stripe maintains its own compliance with international data transfer requirements for payment data.

Children's Privacy
